Speaking of the indie-rock girl/boy duo, White Stripes
vocalist and record store/label owner Jack White is this year’s Record Store Day “ambassador,” and perfectly summed up the beauty and importance of
experiencing music on vinyl in a statement on RecordStoreDay.com. “We need to
re-educate ourselves about human interaction and the different between
downloading a track on a computer and … getting turned on to music that you can
hold in your hands and share with others,” he says.
Here’s a list of what local music stores have happening this
Record Store Day. For lists of exclusive Record Store Day releases you can
treat yo’self to (and a hilariously noneducational video about how records are
made, featuring White himself), visit RecordStoreDay.com.
