Crazy time!

Is anyone else looking forward to the new year? I sure am. It's a time for getting organised and starting afresh for me. I get a bit crazy around Christmas time. Mixtape is doing so well and we have some cool stuff organised and we're really looking forward to 2008.
In the meantime we're getting issue 3 together which will be available for pre-sale just after Christmas and before the New Year.
If you'd like to be on our mailing list for updates please send an email to feedback[dot]mixtapezine[at]gmail[dot]com

Happy Holidays!!

we want YOUR contribution!

Rohan and Simmone who are a couple of our regular contributors and very dear friends of mine have both (seperately) come back from 5 and 6 week trips through Europe.

Rohan picked me up some Italian trashy novels: after being inspired by Simmones article Paperback Love - The little Girls Understand in issue 1 of mixtape.

Simmone gave me this beauty the other day that she had picked up at a op shop: I just love the font and the outfit!!

Are you passionate about something? Got issue 1 and 2 already and think you could add something to the mix? BRING IT ON! We really value our contributors, 'cause lets face it mixtape wouldn't be what it is without them!

letters

On our trip to the City last Friday i picked up a copy of FOUND magazine.
I LOVE books like this, full of photographs and letters.

It reminded me of a few other books i have, '2gether 4ever-notes of a teenage heartthrob' by Dene Larson.
And 'Thank You' by Robert Frank, this is my favourite!
It's like peeking into others lives which i love doing : Do you know of any books that are similar?

shhhh! don't tell anyone.....

A little birdy told me that there is "secret" "free" "download" on this site at the moment...

If you go to the site, then click on the explorers club compass (like from 'the life aquatic by steve zissou' the wonderful wonderful Wes Anderson film) It takes you to a 'enter details' get free track "I Remember" (a beautiful track)

Go and have a peep, but remember shhhhhh!

Oh and pop FEB 8 in your diary. We are having a launch for issue 3 (here in Melbourne), more details to follow............

so much goodness out there

Nic and I went into the city on Friday and dropped more stock into Sticky and Mikes. While we were there we stopped in at Magnation and picked up some mags. I got myself a copy of the latest Wooden Toy, woowza what an issue! I have been glued to the pages all week-end. The design is beautiful and the articles are fab. The Roller Derby Girls, Jane from Chapel Tattoo, Burlesque Babes and sooooo much more. It costs $28 and it is worth every cent. I will be subscribing for sure.

If you live in Melbourne go and check out our very own Craft Mafia tomorrow night!
